From mist-covered mountains to turquoise island waters — explore Thailand's most breathtaking destinations by region.
🏙 Bangkok — Temples, Markets & Street Food. Thailand's capital is one of Asia's most exhilarating cities — a dazzling mix of ancient temples, floating markets, rooftop bars, sky trains and world-famous street food. The Grand Palace complex is an architectural masterpiece covering 218,000 sq metres and home to the sacred Emerald Buddha. Wat Pho houses the massive 46-metre reclining Buddha and is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage. Wat Traimit contains the world's largest solid gold Buddha statue. The Chao Phraya River is best explored by longtail boat, passing temples, orchid gardens and the historic riverside districts that define old Bangkok.
🌊 Phuket — Big Buddha, Beaches & Island Life. Thailand's largest island delivers a magnificent mix of Andaman Sea beaches, cultural heritage and resort living. The 45-metre white marble Big Buddha atop Nakkerd Hills is Phuket's most photographed landmark — visible from across the island with panoramic views of the coast. Karon Viewpoint reveals three beaches at once — Kata Noi, Kata Yai and Karon — spread across an arc of the Andaman Sea. Old Phuket Town's Sino-Portuguese shophouse architecture and vibrant street art districts reward slow exploration. Patong Beach's waterfront buzzes with energy while Kata Beach offers a more relaxed atmosphere for families.
🏝 Krabi & Phi Phi Islands — Limestone Cliffs, Lagoons & Maya Bay. The Krabi and Phi Phi island group is one of the world's most iconic tropical seascapes — dramatic limestone karsts rising vertically from the turquoise Andaman Sea, hidden lagoons accessible only by boat, and the world-famous Maya Bay (filming location of "The Beach"). Krabi's 4 Islands tour covers Koh Poda, Chicken Island, the miraculous Talay Waek sandbar — where the sea parts at low tide connecting three islands — and the sacred Phra Nang Cave Beach. Railay Beach, accessible only by longtail boat, is among Asia's most celebrated stretches of sand, enclosed by sheer limestone cliffs.
🐘 Chiang Mai — Ancient Temples, Elephant Sanctuaries & Hill Tribes. Northern Thailand's cultural capital sits at 300 metres in a valley surrounded by forested mountains. The old city — still enclosed within a moat and ancient walls — contains over 300 temples, including the unmissable Doi Suthep monastery crowning the mountain above the city. Chiang Mai is home to ethical elephant sanctuaries where rescued elephants roam freely. The Night Bazaar and Sunday Walking Street are Thailand's best markets outside Bangkok. The Mae Rim valley and Doi Inthanon National Park — Thailand's highest peak — are within easy day-trip reach.
🎆 Pattaya — Waterfront City Between Bangkok and the South. Pattaya sits on the Gulf of Thailand just 2 hours from Bangkok — making it an ideal stopover destination within a Thailand circuit. The city has transformed beyond its reputation into a vibrant waterfront destination with coral island boat trips, the spectacular Sanctuary of Truth wooden temple, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, floating markets and the famous Walking Street. Pattaya Bay is lined with restaurants, beach clubs and nightlife. Koh Larn (Coral Island) is a 45-minute ferry ride away and offers calm, clear waters for snorkelling and swimming.
Travel experts weigh in — here's our honest guide to the best time to visit Thailand.
Shoulder Season Best Value
November to April is the prime travel window for all our Thailand packages — covering Bangkok, Phuket and Krabi. The skies are clear, the Andaman Sea is calm for speedboat island tours, and temperatures are pleasantly warm rather than swelteringly hot. December and January are the peak of the season and the best months for island hopping.
High Demand Periods
Christmas and New Year attract maximum demand — hotels fill months in advance and prices surge significantly. Songkran (Thai New Year water festival, mid-April) is a spectacular cultural experience but causes traffic and logistics disruption. Book at least 3–4 months ahead for these windows.
Weather Warning
The southwest monsoon (May–October) brings heavy rain, rough seas and dangerous boat conditions to Phuket and Krabi. Island speedboat tours are often cancelled or suspended. Maya Bay is closed annually from August 1 to October 1. The Gulf of Thailand coast (Pattaya, Koh Samui) is drier during this period. We'd rather tell you honestly than take your booking.
